Laura N'Order

A little while ago now, I read with dismay about NBC's decision to axe "Law and Order." After being on the air for twenty years now, I cannot believe that it is going to end BEFORE Gabriel Byrne gets to guest-star in an episode.

He must be literally the only working actor in New York City who has not appeared in "Law and Order", or any of its spin-offs.

Shame really, as Gabe don't half scrub up nice when he's up before the Beak ... *sigh*

I can just imagine him, wheeling and dealing with the Council for the Defence -

(Go on Gabriel. Give 'em some more of that Jaw action!)

And finally, waiting to hear whether he's going to be sent down for good, or get off scott-free ..

But alas .. we'll never know the final verdict. Just one season short of it's attempt to break the 20-year record for longest-running television series, "Law and Order" is set to hear the crash of the gavel for one last time at the end of the current season.

That is, of course, unless it gets picked up by another network ..? Who knows. We may yet have a chance to see Gabriel Byrne in a Dick Wolf series.
